CREW IS BACK!

Sign up for updates here:

Crew

Do you like to build and craft things with your hands? Would you like to learn how to use a light or sound board? Then CAST wants you!

Each year the CAST program produces a range of dramas, comedies and musicals especially designed for and performed by children. Our student crew works under the guidance of theatre professionals to create and build the set and all the clever gadgets that make our productions magical. We’ve produced shows where performers fly, dance in the rain or get eaten by gigantic plants!

Check out this behind-the-scenes look at our crew in action.

Build Crew

Build Crew is available during the school year for Julian students in grades 6-8. It is also available in the summer in our CASTSummer program for students in incoming grades 5-8 from any school. No experience is needed to work with the Build Crew. We will teach you everything you need to know. The crew meets during the weeks surrounding each production. A more complete schedule is always available online. At various crew meetings throughout the year, members will learn about set design and construction, scene painting, carpentry and light/sound board management.

To join Crew no audition or sign up is necessary. Just come to one of the Crew Calls on select Saturday mornings from 10 AM - 12 PM.

All SATURDAY CALLS take place in the Julian Auditorium. Email cmarshall@op97.org to find out when the next crew call will take place.

Run Crew

Run Crew is selected from students in the Build Crew who have proven to be hard-working and dependable. These students take charge of production elements and the light/sound board during performances.

For students who would like to perform on stage, go to Performance.

We also have summer programs for incoming students in 5th to 8th grade. For more information, go to CASTSummer.
