CAST at Julian
2021-2022
CAST is back in person…
and we are so excited that you are interested in auditioning to be a part of it! While every rehearsal will be in-person during the 2020-21 schoolyear, performances will still be virtual as a safety measure for our student performers. We can’t wait to share our work with CAST’s loyal audience this year.
We will pick this year’s 3 shows when we know the amazing Julian students who will become the 2021-22 CAST Company. Are you ready to join us?
CAST 2021-22: Season INFO
1. This year’s rehearsals will be in-person.
We will be back on the stage or in classrooms at Julian for all rehearsals this year! Afterschool rehearsals will be scheduled in advance and involve only those actors who are called for the scheduled scenes. A detailed schedule will be available ahead of time. Performers must be able to attend all the rehearsals for which they are called. Please help us by only participating in these activities if you can happily keep the commitment. Since commitment plays a large part in the casting process, please be fair and don’t audition if the commitment will be broken.
2. THE 3 PERFORMANCES will be virtual.
Our aim is to create an amazing film of our final performance and broadcast it via ShowTix4U on a few very special evenings during the year. We will film in full costume and stage lighting. We will complete filming in time to edit and add cool effects and music.
3. The season will contain 3 plays - Spring, WINTER and FALL.
It may be possible to be in more than one show so let us know all the ones in which you are interested! The most important thing for us to know about you is when you are available to rehearse. See “rehearsal periods” below for more information.
We intend to do 1 comedy, 1 musical and 1 dramatic performance AND STUDENTS CAN BE in MORE THAN ONE.
CAST 2021-22: Rehearsals
Rehearsals will generally be held after school until 5:30PM during the rehearsal period for each activity listed below. No one will be called five days a week and no one will be called less than two days a week, however the amount of rehearsal time you will need is determined by the size of your role and the proximity to performance. A detailed schedule will be sent with your casting information. It is assumed that any conflicts will be addressed before the first rehearsal. A medical or family emergency is the ONLY excused absence. Your absence will affect every CAST participant. Please consider your responsibility to family and school before agreeing to participate.
REHEARSAL PERIODS
Before selecting which shows you would like to perform in, please check that you are available after any regularly scheduled school day during the following rehearsal periods. If you have questions about this process please contact the CAST office at 524-7848 or ksimon@op97.org.
