CAST 2023-24 Mission Season Continues

One of the main reasons we are in school is to find out what is our life’s mission. These plays explore some of the most unusual choices for a life’s mission but they are a great way to learn just how much there is out there to explore. Find out where you fit it by joining us this year.

THE BOY WHO TALKED TO WHALES

Jerry Johnson has secretly taught himself to talk to Ooka, a 50-foot whale that has fled from whalers into Puget Sound. With the help of Meg, a neighbor girl, he devises a plan to save Ooka from those who want to hurt or use her. More importantly, Jerry and Meg help Ooka combat the foreign whalers. The plan succeeds so well it causes a great international crisis, which the two children help the president of the United States resolve.

When a group of young black women join the Women's Army Corps during WWII, they're promised training as medical technicians. But a racist Colonel at Fort Devens has other ideas, and demotes them to cleaning duty. Based on a true story, this gripping and inspiring drama explores the complexities of standing up for one's rights.
